Found was launched by 28 year old Sydneysiders, Mark De Luca and Onur Kece. Both formally worked in Advertising Agencies but after Mark was struck down with cancer in 2007, he left the workforce. Onur, Turkish in background and familiar with the fruit, recommended he look into Pomegranate juice as a healthy, natural remedy to fight chemotherapy’s side effects.

The two searched for it in Australia but struggled to find it at a price and quality that was at all decent. But, this search led them to realise that there is a gap in the market, and the two commenced building a juice company that began with pomegranate, and is now a 3 year old enterprise with a beautiful range of exotic, organic products including: Mulberry, cherry, honeydew melon, strawberry and Watermelon – all extremely healthy, antioxidant laden fruits.

In 2010 the pair launched a re-branded product range with a more modern, sophisticated and fashionable look. The product now rivals even the biggest competitors in price and quality with the juice available in Australia and soon to be UK and the USA.

We’ve always said that ethical brands need to present themselves well if they want to be taken seriously. Fair Trade businesses that take their brands seriously act as great ambassadors for the whole fair trade movement and help to demonstrate that fair trade is something that all consumers should be taking interest in, and it’s not just for a niche of hardcore ethical consumers who don’t mind sacrificing style and function to follow their principles. With this in mind, here we’ve selected what we think are the five best fair trade website designs:

1.	Bibico
The ethical fashion brand Bibico has a great website design that manages to strike that fine balance between being clean and simple, without being bland. It’s fresh, vibrant, stylish and very easy to navigate, demonstrating that you don’t need to be a big corporation to have a fantastic website.

http://www.bibico.co.uk/

2.	Divine Chocolate
Divine chocolate is an ethical brand that really knows how to present itself, having achieved top spot in our recent 10 best fair trade brand names. The Divine Chocolate website is bold, engaging and suitably luxurious. It’s simple, clear layout is easy to navigate, and it only real downfall is its heavy use of images instead of text links.

http://www.divinechocolate.com/

3.	Clipper Tea
The Clipper tea website really stands out from the crowd with its distinctive colouring and graphic style. It’s perfectly on brand and simple enough that the website is clear and compelling. Distinctive and memorable, you’re unlikely to confuse this with any of their rivals’ websites, and for all the right reasons.

http://www.clipper-teas.com/

4.	Jing Tea
Another tea brand, Jing’s website is the perfect example of how to use a clean and simple style and layout to convey a large amount of fairly detailed information, and makes very effective use of integrated video on the homepage.

http://jingtea.com/

5.	Wombat
Wombat is another brand from our 10 best fair trade brand names, who have carried a commitment to their brand identity through to their website design. Quirky graphics, distinct colouring, and a simple layout make this site a joy to use, though like the Divine website, it’s let down by its overuse of graphic links that hinder accessability.

http://www.wombatclothing.com/

It’s great to see that there are some fair trade brands out there developing really top-notch websites, so we hope these examples above will provide a little inspiration to other fair trade and ethical brands to follow suit. Please feel free to post a comment to tell us about your favourite fair trade website designs.

Of course, if you need any help developing your brand identity or website design then feel free to give us a call on 0208 1234590 or fill in our no obligation quote form.

Following on from our recent post on the best green brand names, we thought it would be interesting to do the same for the best fair trade brand names. There is an interesting contrast between green brands and fair trade brands, because although the fair trade market has grown massively in recent years, many fair trade products are unbranded commodities such as bananas and oranges, or are simply ethical products within a conventional brand’s range. The development of dedicated fair trade brands is really in its infancy, but there are a handful of really good brand names, so here’s our top 10:

1.	Divine Chocolate – the name brilliantly positions the brand as a premium chocolate, while discreetly promoting their ethical practices.

2.	Clean Slate – the brand name for this ethical school uniform company is so obviously it so good, it just had to be done.

3.	Traid – what better name, could there be to communicating the principle of aid through trade. And its an anagram of ‘Textile Recycling for International Aid and Development’. Genius!

4.	No Sweat – the hip, catchy name, for even if this was a non-ethical fashion brand, but the company said trade principles give it a whole new meaning. It would have been even better if they were selling sports clothing.

5.	Shared Interest – a great brand name for an ethical investment organisation, which does exactly what it suggests.

6.	Cafe Direct – descriptive yet distinctive, cafe direct has grown to become a major copy.

7.	People Tree – soft and quirky, it are suggestions of its position as an ethical fashion brand, without being too in-your-face.

8.	Wombat - wombat is a fashion brand that isn’t defined by its ethics. With this catchy name fitting perfectly with their relaxed Aussie style, they could well go on to rival big names like Fat Face and White Stuff.

9.	Pants to Poverty – there’s no misunderstanding about what this brand does. It’s a great name to targeting ethical consumers, there is unlikely to ever break into the mainstream.

10.	Albert and I – unusual and intriguing, the name is just the beginning of the story for this ethical and organic fashion brand.

We would love to hear your favourite fair trade brand names, or if you need some help finding the right name for your fair trade brand then take a look at our brand naming services and give us a call on 0845 8624442.
